This is an astonishing set of natural Art Deco 1920’s style Tanzanite and Diamond earrings set in polished platinum with paperwork. Tanzanite Is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The earrings are from renowned designer Orianne Collins and is marked, "ORIANNE PT950". The solid platinum earrings feature a two fantastic pear modified brilliant cut with brilliant cut crown Tanzanite stones with a total weight of 4.70 carats and very high quality / clarity with beautiful transparent eye clean finish with Vivid Violet Blue color and rare pleochroism giving different changes of colors when moved having a very even color throughout. Surrounding the pear cut Tanzanite is a halo bezel being complete set with Diamonds and held by a cluster or diamond set links finishing in a post clasp which are also set with Diamonds.
