For your consideration is a quarter sawn oak drop front secretary desk with exceptional Art Nouveau hand carved nude woman accent. This piece dates to circa 1890 to 1910 and features a quarter sawn white oak frame construction. The rounded corners of the piece are covered in a white oak veneer. The large drawer construction is poplar wood with quarter sawn white oak face. The drop down table has an ornately carved beautiful nude lady laid out and surrounded by grape leaves and reeds, a typical Art Nouveau style. The pigeon drawer construction is made up of white oak and poplar while the frame work is made from white oak. The top three drawers feature a quarter sawn white oak panel with white oak sides and maple bottoms. The three drawer bottoms all feature varying degrees of birds eye figure. The varnish finish on the desk has worn in some places and will need to be refinished. Overall the desk is in fair condition. The wear to the desk is associated with its age. The desk measures 47" x 19.5" x 44.75".
