Featured in this lot is this framed original watercolor of the Vermont landscape by American artist Arthur Kelly David Healy born in 1902 and died in 1978. The artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted watercolor construction that shows a landscape scene of Vermont in the winter, which was a common and favorite medium or subject for Healy, that is the perspective on top of a snow covered hill behind some brush looking down across a snow cover farmland with mountains way in the distance. The artist signature is seen in the bottom right hand corner. Arthur Healy is known for Landscape, wildlife, illustrations. Arthur Kelly David Healy was born in New York City on October 15, 1902. Healy spent most of his career in New York City. He died in Addison, Vermont in October 1978. Arthur K.D. Healy (1902 – 1978), the College’s first “Artist in Residence,” who later joined the faculty and served as Chairman of the Fine Arts Division. He was rarely without his pencils, pens, brushes, and paper, recording the landscapes of Vermont, Ireland, Florida, and Haiti, with a particular ability to capture the horses at Saratoga, fly fishing on area creeks and rivers, grouse hunting in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, sailing on the Atlantic Coast and the waters of Lake Champlain, and hunting, trekking and fishing on Ireland’s west coast in Connemara. The condition of this framed watercolor is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this framed water color is 32 1/8" x 39 5/8" and the visible artwork measures 21 5/8" x 29 3/8". The collective weight of this framed watercolor is 13lb 10oz.
