The buttons range from the Civil war to the second World War. Most of the buttons are made of brass with some having a iron backing or made entirely of iron. The face of the buttons show a variety of symbols, including Marine cadet buttons, American eagle with shield, and state buttons. The buttons show a wide range of nationalities with buttons from England, Scotland, Germany, Australia, Canada, and America.
