Featured in this lot we have a U.S. Civil War era Austrian Augustin model 1842 percussion cap musket originating from the mid 1800's. The musket originally was manufactured as a tube lock but was converted to a percussion cap action in the 1850's. They were later replaced by more accurate rifled muskets. The musket is chambered in .71 caliber, with a round 33" barrel, walnut stock, percussion hammer and lock plate, and under barrel ramrod. The side of the musket is stamped "~8" with the first numbered faded. The rifle does show some wear from use and warm patina. This firearm qualifies as an Antique and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
