This is an original oil on board by Barbara Gundlach Fisher Holm (1933-2018), a Montana artist, of a Montana Rodeo Cowboy, signed lower right. Barbara Gundlach Fisher Holm (1933-2018) was an Montana artist known for her western oil on canvas paintings. Barbara was born in Ekalaka, Montana and later moved to Billings, Montana. The painting displays a cowboy as he stands on and looks over a white fence with a contestant number on his back. The rodeo cowboy is shown in a blue long sleeved shirt, jeans, and leather caps with a black cowboy hat. The painting displays wonderful impressionistic style and attention to detail. The piece is signed in the bottom right hand corner reading "B. Fisher". The art is set into a custom wood frame with a burlap and wood border around the art. The back of the canvas is marked in the top corner reading "To Amber From Ray Ostrum X-Mas-1983". The piece shows good condition overall with some light wear. The frame measures 15 3/4" wide by 18 3/4" tall with the art measuring 8 1/2" wide by 11 1/2" tall.
