Offered in this lot is a signed and numbered limited edition print of an oil painting, "Solders Chapel", by Jim Dick. Grandson of Montana homesteaders, Jim was born and raised on a wheat farm located on the prairie of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. He is known for his realistic landscapes that capture a “sense of place”. Capturing and evoking the emotional impact of the 'place' through use of composition, light, value, color, and brushwork is his goal. Soldiers Chapel is a Christian memorial chapel in Big Sky, Montana that was dedicated in 1955 by the Nelson Story family in tribute to a fallen family member of the 163rd Infantry Regiment. The regiment was part of the Montana National Guard during World War II. The print is professionally framed and double matted with a brass title plate; on the back of the art is an envelope with a certificate of authenticity. This print is #53 of 500. The art and frame are in very good condition. The shown art is 19 1/2" x 16" and the frame is 29 1/4" x 26".
