Featured in this lot is this framed "Birdseye View of Ft. Yates" panorama photograph and "22nd Infantry Soldiers Posing with Family" photograph display both circa 1880's - 1890's. The two photographs feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted construction that shows a beautiful oval frame. The first is a panorama photograph attributed to D.F. Barry as this is a consistent theme in prominent and popular modem of creativity seen in other D.F. Barry panorama photographs; the photograph is a "Birdseye View" of the town of Fort Yates and includes a tag in the boack that reads as follows: Dakota - Birdseye View of Fort Yates, North Dakota - N.p., ca. late 1880's, early 1890's. Original photographic print. Image is 9.5 x 14.2cm. Fine. This birdseye view is of the town and not the fort which was established in 1874 and abandoned in 1903. The second photograph is of the officers of the 22nd infantry and their family members and friends and has an accompanying list of present officers and community and reads as follows: Lieutenant Colonel Drum Commanding Officer - group on porch of Commanding Officers quarters Fort Yates, North Dakota - left of line. Lieutenant P.G. Mood and daughter Josephine Mood - Mrs. Pauline G. Mood - Lieutenant Colonel Drum Standing next to Colonel Drum Captain Miner - in front of post Lieutenant Steele, near Steele next Genbevieve Mood, Baby Brooks - Mrs Brooks, Margaret Mood, Rusty Gilbet. 3 ladies seated - Mrs. Miner, Mrs. Drum, Mrs. Haskell - Captain Haskell next to house between Lieut's Mrs. Steele. On lower step Doctor Chapino - Simon Drum - May Mood, Lieutenant Steele (with saber), Lieutenant Stephen, Lieutenant Crowder - Lieutenatn David (Baker); Lieutenant Brooks; Captain 22nde Infantry and officer 22nd; (Doctor\ Contract Doctor). The condition fo this framed pair of photographs is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this framed display is 24 1/2" x 18 1/2". The collective weight of this framed photographs is 4lb 6oz.
