Featured in this lot is a forged high carbon Viking style battle axe made by Bjorn Ironside Forge located in Sweden. The forge is named after Bjorn Ironside, a Norse Viking chief and King of Sweden during the 9th century. King Bjorn Ironside is the son of legendary Viking king Ragnar Lothbrok and appears in Norse legends. This Viking style battle axe displays a simple axe head similar to the traditional Viking Dane axe head. The head is constructed from G10600 carbon steel and 52100 ball bearing steel. The left side of the blade is marked "Bjorn Ironside Forge Made In Sweden". The haft of the axe features oak construction with a dark brown exterior. The top of the handle shows a black leather wrap and black leather grip towards the bottom. The axe displays wonderful condition with an excellent design. The piece comes with a custom leather cover. The axe measures 24 1/4" long overall, with the axe head measuring 6 1/2" long with a 4 1/4" cutting edge.
