Featured in this lot are a pair of Beautiful Rare Black Hills Gold 10K Dream Catcher and Feathers Earrings. The exquisite styling includes a central "dream catcher" with a four leaf cross pattern, alternating rose and copper coloured leaves flanked by grape clusters, while three feathers dangle below in alternating colours, with shepherd hooks each. With Ojibwe Nation origins, a dreamcatcher is traditionally hung over a bed or cradle as a protective charm. Dream catchers were adopted in the Pan-Indian Movement of the 1960s and 1970s as a symbol of unity among the various Native American cultures or as a general symbol of identification with Native American or First Nations cultures, and gained popularity as a widely marketed "Native crafts items" in the 1980s.
