The lot features an original authentic photograph of a Blackfeet (Blackfoot) Native American Indian tepee from Browning, Montana at the Browning Indian Agency. This 19th Century photograph shows good overall condition. The back of the frame is hand written in graphite, “Nora Spanish” and “Browning”. The photograph shows a large Blackfeet hide rawhide polychrome tepee with an exceptional traditional design having a large Great American Bison Buffalo at the center. To the left of the tepee shows various Indian figures. The composition and subject matter of the photograph is excellent and displays very well. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. Photograph measures 7”x5”. Frame is 10.25”x12”.
