Featured in this lot is this Bob Blackwood double strap rodeo spurs circa 1970's. The spurs shows a wonderfully and professionally crafted iron construction that features a traditional rodeo style design with a double spur strap buttons and features a single piece design with replacement washer rowels. The spurs show marks of 'BB' for Bob Blackwood on outside of the spur frames. Bob loved rodeo and that love of rodeo and the fact that someone stole his spurs were the catalyst for Blackwood Spurs and Rodeo Equipment Company in 1969. The BB Brand would become the standard for competitors at both ends of the arena, and the twisted shank bull spur BB developed was one of a very few changes to the bull spur since cowboys started riding bulls. The condition of this pair of spurs is fair with heavy oxidation adorning the spur frames and shows replacement rowels and hardware but otherwise is in fair overall condition. The measurements of this pair of spurs are 1 3/8" x 5 1/4" x 4 3/8".
