Offered in this lot are three (3) Books of the American West: "Did Custer Disobey Orders at the Little Big Horn?" by Dr. Charles Kuhlman,1957; "P. H. Toner Harness and Saddlery Catalogue No. 2,, 1903; and, "The Bighorn Sheep In Idaho", by Dwight R. Smith, 1954. The legend that is General William Armstrong Custer continues to this day. Whenever there is a serious discussion of the Custer Battle, the name Kuhlman is certainly going to come up. is a scholarly investigation into the controversial question of whether or not General George Armstrong Custer disobeyed orders during the infamous battle of Little Big Horn. The author delves into the historical context and the events leading up to the battle, examining the orders that were given to Custer by his superiors and the decisions he made on the day of the battle. The P.H. Toner Harness and Saddlery company was located in South Omaha, Nebraska. This is a reprint of their 1903 "Catalogue No. 2", the inside cover description, "...The reprint of this rare catalogue contains vital information for collectors of Western memorabilia. Omaha was a busy business center for cattlemen and cowboys alike because of it's location and also because of the famous Omaha Stockyards..." "The Bighorn Sheep In Idaho" was published by the State of Idaho Department of Fish and Game as "Wildlife Bulletin No. 1" in 1954. The bulletin was the result of scientific study to develop a management program to maintain the perpetuation of the species and a viable population for sportsmen to harvest. All three books are softcover paper bound, average measurement 6"W x 9"L, combined weight 1lb.
