For your consideration is this first edition of "Boots and Saddles or Life in Dakota with General Custer" written by Elizabeth B. Custer and published in 1885 by Harper & Brothers, Franklin Square. The book was written in dedication to her late husband, General George Armstrong Custer, and chronicles their life together in the Dakotas until his untimely death at the hands of Indians at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876. The appendix of the book includes numerous extracts of letters from General Custer, including many from just prior to the battle of the Little Bighorn. This book has some library markings and a gift inscription; there are also two pages (55-58) that are ripped horizontally in the book--though no text is missing (see photo). It is in otherwise very good condition with a tight binding. The book measures 5.25" x 7.5".
