Featured in this lot we have a Boston maker Wakefield percussion cap sporting rifle with a .64 gauge barrel. The rifle was manufactured in the mid to late 1800's. The rifle displays a 29 1/4" long round barrel with a walnut stock, percussion cap action, and trigger guard. The tang and lock plate display engraved floral designs. The lock plate is marked "BOSTON WAKEFIELD" and marked again across the top of the barrel "Boston Maker Wakefield". The back 7 1/2" of the barrel shows an octagonal design with flattened bead sight at the front of the barrel. The rifle shows a working action with a tight action and good trigger. The rifle shows good condition overall with a warm patina and finish with some wear across the exterior and light damage on the stock. No Serial Number. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
