Featured in this lot is a hand forged, straight point, chopper knife with hand-tooled leather sheath. The knife displays a spring steel blade with an oak wooden handle. The blade displays a straight point blade design with a finger groove at the back of the blade. The handle shows a ward wood oak handle set with four brass pins. The knife comes with a hand-tooled leather sheath with geometric line designs across the sheath. The knife was hand-forged in Bozeman, Montana by blacksmith Ben Johnson. Johnson was born in Burbank, California and moved to Bozeman at an early age. Johnson graduated from the MSU Gallatin College Welding program in 2016. After graduation, Johnson began his venture into hand forged, custom Blacksmithing, where he found a specialization in knife and blade work. The piece shows good condition with some light wear. The knife measures 12 1/4" long overall, with the blade measuring 8 1/8" long.
