Featured in this lot is this brilliant tanzanite VS2 diamond and 14k white gold ring with AIGL paperwork. The ring features a polished, stamped, and tested 14k white gold construction with a bright finish and shows a 'Orianne' hallmark and shows a '14k' gold stamp next to the hallmark and is marked as follows: TA 2.73cts - DO 0.59cts. The center stone is a marquise modified brilliant cut tanzanite gemstone that shows measurements of 13 x 7mm and shows a bluish violet color with a very good cut grade and a total weight of 2.73 carats. The center stone and pave shoulders are profusely decorated with a total of 36 round brilliant cut diamond with measurements of 1.5mm and shows a clarity of VS2 - SI2 and a color gradient of G -H and a total weight of 0.59 carats. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with AIGL Inc.(American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. a GIA certified lab AIGL#: K31E67-EA15890) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $7,915.00. The ring size is US 7.
