Featured in this lot we have a British 1897 Infantry Officer's sword. The sword is manufactured by the Wilkinson sword company which was founded in 1772 by Henry Nock. The blade shows beautiful etching of floral type scrawling with a coat of arms in evidence. The blade is marked "R.Q.F.J. - By Warrant - Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London." on one side of the blade, "London Made - 58468" across the back, and shows a star of David on the other side of the blade. The sword features a straight grooved blade with etched hand guard, and wire wrapped shark skin grip. The sword comes with a metal scabbard with two connection rings. The piece is in good condition overall with a warm patina across the grip, guard, and a little of the blade and a few dents on the scabbard. The blade measures 32 1/2" long with the grip measuring 6" long, and the piece measures 40" long overall in its sheath.
