For your consideration are two English silver marks and collection books circa 1978 and 1989. The first book in this collection is a first edition titled, "British Silver in the Huntington Collection" by Robert R. Wark circa 1978. This book includes 375 annotated items from the Huntington Collection, all illustrated, dated and described. The book is separated in sections for easy reading and navigation e.g. Drinking Vessels, Flatware, Candlesticks & Candelabra and more. The dust cover reads, "British Silver in the Huntington Collection" in white lettering against a blue background and shows an image of a beautiful silver pitcher. The book shows good condition overall with some slight wear present from its age and use over the years but no signs of obvious damage is noted. The book measures 11" L x 8 7/8" W x 11/16" D. The second book in this collection is a third edition titled, "Jackson's Silver & Gold Marks of England, Scotland & Ireland" edited by Ian Pickford circa 1989. This new third edition has been created by a team of prominent professionals to account for the large store of material found as a result of extensive and broad research over the last seventy years. The text has been considerably updated, with over 10,000 fixes and a massive quantity of wholly new content. For example, there are over 1,000 corrections to London manufactures' marks from the eighteenth century alone. Many concepts and attributions have changed since Jackson assembled his work, and some of the artists he overlooked are now recognized as significant silversmiths. The book is filled with various lists of maker's marks, black & white photos, history and more. The book is bound with a hard cover and is covered with a dust jacket showing a silver piece and reading, "Jackson's Silver & Gold MArks of England, Scotland & Ireland edited by Ian Pickford / A revised edition with 10,000 corrections of Sir Charles Jackson;s classic work / English goldsmiths and their marks". The book shows good condition overall with slight wear present from its use over the years but no signs of obvious damage is present. The book measures11" L x 8 1/2" W x 2 1/4" D. The two books have a collective weight of 8 pounds and 2 ounces.
