For your consideration is a BSA Enfield No. 1 Mk. III* Bolt Action Rifle. The Mk. III* differs from a stand Mk. III in the fact that they were produced during a rifle shortage in England, thus a few shortcuts were used to ramp up production. This Mk. III* does not have the standard brass disk in the stock and the rear sight can only be adjusted for elevation. The rifle is stamped with a variety of proof marks, some of their more notable are the crown over GR, the Australian broad arrow and the BSA crown over NP. The band underneath the bolt is stamped "crown over GR - B.S.A. Co. - 1918 - SHT L.E. - III*." This rifle is chambered in .303 British. This Enfield utilizes a 25" round blue'd barrel dovetailed front sight. The action and trigger mechanism function as intended. Serial Number: 68216. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic Firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
