For your consideration is a BSA Enfield No. 1 Mk. III* Bolt Action Rifle. The Mk. III* differs from a stand Mk. III in the fact that they were produced during a rifle shortage in England, thus a few shortcuts were used to ramp up production. This Mk. III* does not have the standard brass disk in the stock and the rear sight is a flip up style. The rifle is stamped with a variety of proof marks, some of their more notable are the crown over GR, and the Australian broad arrow. The barrel is stamped “Santa Fe Jungle Carbine MKI MD 12011 Golden State Arms Corp. PASADENA CALIF.” The band underneath the bolt is stamped "crown over GR - B.S.A. Co. - 1917 - SHT L.E. - III*." This rifle is chambered in .303 British. This Enfield utilizes a 20 ½” round blue'd barrel dovetailed front sight. The action and trigger mechanism function as intended. Magazine is not present.
