For your consideration is this beautifully crafted, late 19th century, burl walnut veneer travel vanity box. This Victorian era vanity box shows a walnut burl veneer, exhibiting rich, golden-brown tones and swirling grain patterns. The top shows a framed panel design while the edges are reinforced with a darker wood trim giving a nice contrast between the woods. The front features a brass key hole with metal nails holding it in place, while the back has metal hinges. The interior is uniquely designed, featuring a removable wooden panel with an oval cutout allowing for placement of a mirror or portrait. The wood panel shows hand drawn portraits of a man and a woman looking towards each other. Below is a compartmentalized interior with a space in the middle and two drawers, one on the left and one on the right. The piece shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years, but no obvious signs of damage noted. Interior shows signs of use. No key included for keyhole. It measures 8 1/2" L x 12 5/8" W x 3 7/8" H and weighs 5 pounds and 2 ounces.
