This is an exceptional and historic set of silver ball and cone earrings from the Arapaho (Inunaina, Hinono'ei) dating to circa 1800-1850, from the Sundog Bruce VanLandingham collection. Authentic examples such as this are exceedingly rare with almost all examples being in museum collections. The set shows a silver material with loop top with ball strung on and cone dangling. For examples see several examples in the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian record NMAI_260344 1840 examples, E200915-1 and E200883-0 both 1800's Arapaho. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery. Each is 1 7/8"L.
