Featured in this lot is this Black Forest drop leaf walnut cabinet circa 1870's. The cabinet is wonderfully and professionally crafted European walnut construction that features two segments that shows an arching top lattice that resembles Black Forest craftsmanship that features a double door upper cabinet portion of the and features a bottom section that produces a drop leaf drawer with a double door cabinet at the bottom portion of the base. The hardware is all original with skeleton keyholes. The upper cabinet shows two shelves behind textured glass. "Black Forest" is a term used to describe the elaborate, realistic wood carvings that were thought to be made in the Black Forest region of Bavaria, Germany. The condition of this drop leaf cabinet is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this of this drop leaf cabinet is 50 1/4" x 100 1/2" x 20 1/2".
