The lot features a Buffalo Bison horn beaded dance club from the Sioux Indians of the circa late 1890 to early 1900's. The piece shows a wood haft handle that is covered in Indian tanned hide which is then further covered in early 1900's glass trade seed beads in a geometric banded beadwork pattern. At the top shows two downward turned Great American Bison Buffalo horns held onto the club with a wrapping of wool and hide with red white heart glass trade seed beaded edge. Below the buffalo horn top is a wrapping of red Germantown wool yarn and two 19th Century solid brass trade bells. The beadwork shows colors of light blue, red white heart, Cheyenne greasy pink, cobalt, greasy yellow, light green, and medium blue. The bottom of the club has scallop cut edge Indian tanned hide fringes. The piece dates to the turn of the century and is well preserved with nice supple hides and little to no bead loss.
