This lot includes four (4) rare Montana trading tokens and three (3) memorabilia coins, circa 1890s -1953. The trading coins were commonly used around the turn of the century as payment for labor in mining towns across the West: One is marked as follows: "Good for 12 1/2 cents in trade" on the face and, "GEORGE WELCOME, GARDINER,, MONT", Welcome was a saloon owner and businessman in Gardiner, location of the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park, from the late 1800's until his death in 1905. This is a rarely seen token that is well over a hundred years old. It is in good condition; also included, "GOOD FOR 10¢ IN TRADE" on the face and, "JOHN B. POZEGA 722 E. THIRD ST. ANACONDA, MONT." on the reverse, in fair to good condition; another token says, "CENTENNIAL BEER HALL PETER RADOJEICH" and on the reverse, "GOOD FOR 5 CENTS IN TRADE" in fair condition; also a rare 1890s token saying, "BREWERY SALOON, ANACONDA, MONT." on the face, the reverse print says, "GOOD FOR ONE DRINK OR CIGAR", mounted in an acrylic case; one employment coin from The North Butte Mining Company in Butte, Montana; a 1920 token that reads, "Anaconda Copper Mining Company Butte Montana" with Arrowhead vignette on the front" AWARDED TO J. W. WARREN by ANACONDA MINING COMPANY FOR MERIT IN FIRST AID", in excellent condition; lastly, a token with the front face reading, "FAIR GALLATIN above a monogram with THE B C C (intertwined). Below that is THE EGYPT OF AMERICA. "VOTE FOR BOZEMAN FOR THE CAPITOL NOV. 8th 1892" on the back face. Coin is in very good condition for being 132 years old. Largest token coin is 1.5" diameter, the smallest 5/8" diameter.
