The lot features a set of miniature beaded hide moccasins from the Lakota Sioux Native American Indians dating to circa 1890. The set shows hard sole parfleche rawhide with Indian tanned hide tops and high top ankles in an old calico trade clothe. The set are both covered on the tops in period correct glass trade seed beads being sinew sewn and having a traditional geometric Sioux pattern commonly referred to as a buffalo track. The beads are in colors of greasy Cheyenne pink, greasy yellow, sky padre light blue, cobalt, chalk white, red white heart and semi-transparent green. One of the moccasins still retains the hide tongue and other is missing. The set show little to no bead loss and likely the miniatures were made for use on a doll.
