The lot features five original Plains Native American Indian silver peyote waterbird pin / brooches ranging from circa early 1900-1960's. three of the five appear to be German Silver, nickel silver and two appear to be a coin silver or sterling. Plains Indian trade silver of early Reservation era is exceedingly rare with this being a fine representation. Three of the pins have a primitive pin back soldered on and two, the silver examples, have a later applied contemporary pin back. Two have original collection tags from Sundog showing prices of $215.00 and $125.00 along with a bar code and inventory number. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce was also the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery, this piece is directly from the collection.
