Presented in this lot is an antique Neapolitan Cameo Carved Conch Shell 3 bronze legged table accent circa 1900-1920. Stunning antique carved conch shell table accent features a cameo of the historic Pine of Naples overlooking the harbour and the City of Naples with Mt. Vesuvius erupting in the background, sail boats against a backdrop of the buildings along the far shore line. The shell rests on a tripod griffin shape patinated cast metal base. This shell was created as a fine keepsake for visiting this part of Italy. The pine tree had been called the most famous tree in Italy and stood for 129 plus years, allowing passerbys to enjoy "the most romantic view in the world". The three bronze legs featured depictions of the Greek mythological creature Ceto. The cameo carved conch shell table accent is in good condition, slight patina on the shell, bronze legs have even patina throughout, no marring noted, measures 7.5"H x 5" diameter base
