Offered in this lot are seven (7) Criminal Mugshots, circa 1910-1930, Original double mugshot photographs (face and profile). Three (3) are of the mugshots are from the original Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge, Montana, and four (4) of the mugshots are from Walla Walla State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, Washingto. A mug shot or mugshot is a photographic portrait of a person from the shoulders up, typically taken after a person is arrested. The original purpose of the mug shot was to allow law enforcement to have a photographic record of an arrested individual to allow for identification by victims, the public and investigators. The mugshots are in good overall condition, age tanning noted. Smallest mugshots measure 3"W x 4.5"L, largest measure 3.5"W x 5.5"L; measurements are approximates.
