Featured in this lot is this American Aesthetic Movement Eastlake dresser circa 1910-1930. The dresser features a wonderfully and professionally crafted American walnut with a mahogany stain finish, white marble, and mirror construction that shows three larger dresser drawers and two smaller nick nack drawers up on top of the marble to either side of the dresser mirror. The dresser decoration is shows floral design with a carved crown and accents with ornate drawer handles. The Aesthetic Movement maintained that art should not be confined to painting, sculpture, and architecture, but should be a part of everyday life. To this end, Aestheticism embraced not only the "high" arts, but also ceramics, metalwork, fashion, furniture-making, and interior design. The condition of this Eastlake dresser is good with some wear due to age and some scratching to the marble but otherwise shows good overall condition. The measurements of this dresser is 93" x 40 1/2" x 20".
