This is an original early circa 1920-1930’s Pacific Clay Products Los Angelese, California stoneware jug. The jar displays thick pottery construction with a carry loop across the top. The top of the jar shows a short round throat and is missing its cork stopper. The jar is colored with a dark brown across the top with a salt glaze protective coating across the exterior. The jug is marked on the front as follows: Pacific Clay Product Co. - Pacific - Los Angeles. Pacific Clay Products was founded in 1892 from the merger of several Southern California potteries and later started producing utilitarian pottery in the 1920’s and solid color earthenware dinnerware in 1932 with the primary site being in Los Angeles until about 1942 when they focused on sewer tile and brick. The condition of this jug is good with some small chips to the rim of the jug but otherwise is in good overall condition. The measurements of this jug are 17" x 10 3/4" x 10 3/4"
