Offered in this lot is an original George Alexander Grant Photograph. George Alexander Grant (1891-1964) was an American photographer who served as the first Chief Photographer for the U.S. National Park Service. George Grant produced between 30,000 and 40,000 images during his years with the Park Service. Of those only10% were ever published. This photo appears to have been taken in Yellowstone National Park and is signed after being developed "Alexander's" in the lower right corner. The photograph has been hand tinted and is in very good condition despite being in what appears to be its original primitive frame. The art shown measures 19 1/4" x15 1/4", and the frame measures21" x 17".
