This is an outstanding circa 1940-1950’s Ted Flowers Saddlery Silver Parade Saddle in very high grade. Ted Flowers was one of the more prolific parade saddle makers of the 1930-1950’s with some of his customers being Roy Rogers and Gene Autrey amongst other famous cowboys, some of the saddles were part of the famous Sharky's Nugget Casino Collection in Reno, NV. which sold in 2002. Early examples from the 1930-1940’s were done on L.V. Frazier Farm and Home Supply Indianapolis, IN. tooled saddles with his silver work adorned but later in the circa 1940-1950’s Ted Flowers started producing his own saddles, such as this amazing piece. The saddle is heavily adorned with original silver work, mostly nickel silver with diamond shaped scales each having hand tooled finishes. The saddle is covered nearly completely in silversmithing / silver work with a silver covered horn, cantle, pommel rise, and more. These saddles in this high of grade of finish regularly sell for over $10,000 (one example being given a value of $35,000) with this being a truly wonderful example from a Montana Cowboy collection. Overall in very good condition for its age with no major damage and nice presentation. The overall measurements of this saddle are 47" x 17" x 27" with a seat size of 14 1/2".
