Unusual, limited production Ten X Rifle Co., Liverpool and Birmingham, England manufactured heavy .22 Long Rifle single shot target rifle, serial number 321. This odd, but high quality rifle was made in the 1940s. Production estimated at a few hundred at most. The unique action appears to be a cross between a Martini dropping lever action with a bolt action! Lowering the lever removes the bolt from battery and slides it back in the receiver to accept a cartridge. Raising the lever closes the bolt and cocks the rifle for firing. Trigger pull is light and crisp, as one would expect from a match grade target rifle. The receiver ring has the maker’s stamping and the barrel measures approx. 28 ½.” It is fitted with a globe front sight that will accommodate inserts as well as a cimpetition micrometer with wheel adjustment rear sight for minute windage and elevation adjustments. Further, the barrel has target scope block installed for scope mounting. The walnut stock features a pistol grip and is checkered at the wrist and on the forearm. The original butt plate is a checkered hard rubber. Condition is excellent with about all the high polish blue intact. The bore is bright and excellent. The stock shows minimal handling. A most unusual design target rifle from the early Post-World War II days in England. These rarely turn up on the collector market. This firearm classifies as a Curio and Relic or Modern Firearm and requires an FFL transfer or NICS background check.
