The lot features a large wide belt and slide buckle from the Blackfeet Indians of Northern Montana dating to the mid-1900's. The belt and buckle show a trade canvas muslin and Indian tanned hide construction with trade thread sewn glass trade seed bead geometric pattern. The buckle is a nice large size and slides. The ends have tanned leather ties. The beadwork shows a wonderful classic geometric pattern with a chalk white background and pattern in colors of greasy yellow, semi-transparent green, greasy light green, red, orange, black, greasy light blue, cobalt, and brown. The belt and buckle shows very slight bead loss and is mostly intact showing nice condition and displays very well. Overall measures 32.5"L without the additional 5" plus ties on each end and is 4 1/8"W. The buckle is 5.75" by 5 1/8".
