For your consideration is this battery powered railman signal lantern circa. 1950-1970 that was made by Honeycutt Manufacturing Co. Inc. in Dilworth, Minnesota. Railroad lanterns were used to give signals to and from train conductors, track linemen, and railway staff working at train stations. The lantern shows a metal construction with a large horse shoe shaped handle and metal wire frame protecting the three glass lights on the lantern. The bottom of the lantern is stamped with, "Don Isaman / Dilworth, Minn. / Honeycutt MFG Co. Inc. / K C MO". It appears the name Don Isaman was the owner of the lantern. The lantern shows two push buttons on either side on the bottom to open the hatch to the battery location. There is a small lever near the three glass bulbs for turning the light off and on. The light shows good condition with only one side of the large handle not connected to the side of the lantern and slight wear from its vintage age. The signal lantern measures 1 5/8" L x 4 3/4" W x 9" H.
