For your consideration is this collection of three vintage reels from various manufacturers through the years 1960-1980. The first reel in this collection is from Ryobi, a Japanese company founded in 1943. This reel was manufactured in the mid 1970s with a skirted spool spinning reel design and a gear ratio of 3.4:1. The reel comes in its original box which shows wear and tear, but the reel is in great condition for its vintage age with very little signs of wear and no obvious damage. The reel spins nice and free. It measures 4 3/4" L x 3" W x 4 1/2" H. The second reel in this collection is a highly collectable, vintage U.S.A. made, Penn Peer No. 209MS reel from 1969. The "M" stands for metal spool and the "S" stands for saltwater. In 1922, Otto Henze left Germany at age 25 and came to the United States. He began working as a machinist for the Ocean City Reels Company of Philadelphia. Otto Henze left Ocean City Reels and started his own fishing reel company in 1932, called Penn Fishing Tackle Manufacturing Company. Then, in 1933, Otto Henze began selling his reels to the general public. The reel comes in its original box with its original manual, tool and lubricant. The reel features a red finish and is in very good condition for its age. The box, manual and tool are also in very good condition. The reel measures 4" L x 5 5/8" W x 3 1/4" H. The last reel in this collection is the Silstar FX40 graphite spool reel from late 1980s to 1990s. The Silstar brand name was one of the most famous and important within the fishing tackle trade throughout Europe, between 1984 and 1997. It was during this period that the SILSTAR brand experienced tremendous growth through a combination of the hard work of its distributors and the excellent quality and value for money which it came to represent. The FX40 was designed so you could use it for a left and right retrieve, features a real control drag wheel, and has a gear ratio of 4.6:1. The reel is finished with a striking red color and comes with the original box and manual. The box shows wear from its age but the reel remains in very good condition with very little signs of wear. The reel measures 5 3/4" L x 5" W x 4 1/2" H.
