This is a circa 1960's Mexican Folk Art clay pottery statue of a woman and child on a donkey wearing a Day of The Dead hat. This figurine shows a donkey caring a woman and child with a basket on the side. The woman is wearing a hat commonly seen during Day of The Dead festivals. The woman, child and donkey are accented with brick red paint on the natural light red clay. Provenance: From the collection of Barbara P. Magerfleisch, these were collected in 1966 in Oaxa, Mexico, and are being offered directly from the family estate. The statue is 10 1/2" tall, 7 1/2" long, and 5" wide. The statue is primitive made but is good condition. The charm of this figurine is undeniable.
