Featured in this lot is this 1966-1970 Matchbox car collection of 35 cars in an original Matchbox Collector's Case from 1966. Matchbox is a popular toy brand which was introduced by Lesney Products in 1953, and is now owned by Mattel, Inc, which purchased the brand in 1997. This collection features cars such as: D8 Bulldozer, Fire Pumper, Cement Truck, Royal Tiger Coach, Ford GT, S&S Cadillac Ambulance, Land Rover Safari, and Cattle Truck to name a few. The cars are from 1966-1970s. The case shows blue and yellow colors with a blue and white Ford GT on the front. In red lettering it reads, "Matchbox Collector's Case" on the front of the carry case. The case shows a metal lock mechanism and a white plastic handle. The largest car measures 2 7/8" L x 1 1/8" W x 1 3/8" H, while the smallest measures 2 5/8" L x 1" W x 3/4" H. The carry case measures 9 5/8" L x 12 1/2" W x 3" D.
