The lot features seven carved pieces from Hopi and Zuni Indians including Kachina Dolls, Kachina carving, and carved doll. First is a large Kachina carved from a single piece of wood and painted with vivid color, signed on the bottom Blue Corn Jarvis Yazzie, a Hopi artist. This measures 12.25"H by 3"W. Next is another Kachina carved from a single piece of wood with nice vivid hand painted colors, signed on the bottom Butterfly T2, in Hopi or Navajo form. Measures 15.75"H by 2.5"W. The third piece is a Kachina doll, carved from cottonwood and has predominetely white paint, signed Zuni Rain Priest C.T. Measures 6.5"H by 2 7/8"W. The next two pieces (numbers four and five) both show cottonwood carving and hand painting, marked on the bottom with a Cameron Trading Post tag, first signed First Mesa Jeo (7"H by 3.75"W) and second Broadface Duo (repaired ear, 6.5"H by 3.75"W). The sixthpiece is a wood piece with incised carved or pyrography burned Kachina or Yeibichai figure with handpainting, signed Navajoland Twin War God. This is a Navajo carving that measures 4.5" by 4.25". Lastly is the seventh piece, a wood doll with painted face, wrapped in a woven planket with beaded hair piece and fur shaw. The bottom is marked as being a "Beauitful American Indian Dolls (with a paragraph on the history of Indian dolls) ... Arts By Lucy! Tucson, AZ (c) pap11 '99." Measures 13"H by 4 7/8"W.
