The lot features a nearly complete authentic original circa 800-1100 A.D. Anasazi corrugated pottery cooking pot / olla with rare double handles / handled pattern. The prehistoric pottery olla has a traditional wide-mouthed Mesa Verde pot with corrugated body having a nice medium size. The inside shows indications and remnants of last meal is nearly complete being repaired from shards, both documented features of early authentic Anasazi pottery cooking pots. Found to be an authentic Anasazi piece by the experts at Pook and Pook. The piece appears to be complete with only chipping at the top edge mouth as shown, but otherwise a rare complete body with no missing pieces. Authentic Anasazi Mesa Verde corrugated pottery olla’s with double handles is immensely rare with very similar example as such being sold by Jackson International in 2015 for $1,280 (w/ bp), with that example missing a piece at the top. Measures overall 5.75”H by 5.5”W.
