Charles Marion Russell, born March 19th, 1864 in St. Louis Missouri and died on October 24, 1926 in Great Falls Montana. Russell is known for his paintings of cowboys, Indians, and western landscapes, as well as crafting bronze sculptures. This piece shows the C. M. Russell painting "Who Killed The Bear" also known as "The Price Of His Hide", depicting two frontier men after an encounter with a bear, with one man looking injured and the other on his way to help. The calendar serves as advertising for "M. & M." out of Butte, Montana. The calendar is complete for the year 1945. The piece is set in a wooden frame behind glass to ensure lasting quality. The piece shows very good condition with no signs of damage.
