Featured in this lot we have a Goodridge-call lumber co. C M Russell painting calendar from 1911. Charles Marion Russell, born March 19th, 1864 in St. Louis Missouri and died on October 24, 1926 in Great Falls Montana. Russell is known for his paintings of cowboys, Indians, and western landscapes, as well as crafting bronze sculptures. This piece shows the C M Russell painting "When the Nose of a Horse Beats the Eyes of a Man", depicting a frontiersman getting diverted by his horse, due to a bear behind the bend. The calendar serves as advertising for "M. & M." out of Butte, Montana. The calendar is complete for the year 1946. Overall, the piece shows very good condition, showing minimal edge wear, and creasing. The calendar is preservation shrink wrapped to acid-free mat board. The calendar itself measures 18 3/8" x 16".
