In this lot is a very unique piece of art. Charlie M. Russell’s “Bringing Up The Trail" (1895) has been "printed" on fabric. After the painting was printed onto fabric, an artist hand embroidered accents and detail to give the picture three dimensional look and feel. The famous Russell painting shows a Native woman with a child on her back, stopping her horse at the edge of a creek. She is shielding her eyes from the setting sun. Next to her is a young boy on horseback and a foal following its mother. A camp dog waits on the other side of the creek, while more women follow behind her. The woman, her horse, the foal, the dog, and some grass have all been embroidered over. This piece of art is in good condition and is matted in a frame that measures 17" x 21" and the shown art measures 10 1/2" x 13 1/2".
