The lot features a fantastic circa 1870's Lakota Sioux beaded tobacco bag from a fantastic Montana collection. The bag exhibits Indian tanned hide, which has stiffened with age, sewn with sinew and covered on the front with classic geometric beadwork done in all 1800's correct glass trade seed cen beads. The beadwork, also sinew sewn, shows a chalk white background with a tipi / lodge design done in cobalt, rfed white heart, greasy yellow with a light blue upper and lower border. The bag shows a nice size with old hide fringes having old brass trade beads along with a cobalt wound glass old trade bead. The bag shows some bead loss and stiff hide from honest age. Overall the bag itself without fringes and ties is 8-inches by 5-inches.
