The lot features a fantastic set of circa 1870-1880 Northern Cheyenne Beaded moccasins from an ex-Sotheby's auction. The set exhibits Indian tanned sinew sewn tops with parfleche rawhide hard sole bottoms having a great foot worn patina from honest age and use. The tops are sinew sewn with period 19th century glass trade seed beads in a classic Northern Cheyenne geometric pattern showing colors of gresy, yellow, red white heart, cobalt, chalk white. The moccasins still have the original Indian hide ties and tongue and the hides appear to be Indian tanned Buffalo / Bison hide. The men's warrior moccasins are well kept and display beautifully. Provenance: From an ex-Sotheby's Auction and a prominent Bozeman, Montana collection. Measures overall 3" x 3 3/4" x 9 3/4".
