This is an original, authentic circa 1880 Navajo Late-Classic Germantown large rug in near excellent condition. The rug is a rare Late Classic Germantown with amazing handspun and natural dyed Germantown yarns showing red, handspun indigo, natural cream and black. The large blanket has been professionally cleaned and preserved / refurbished to be in near excellent condition for its early age. The rug has Germantown and American Flannel yarns on the fringes / end and the rug has a fine tight weave with visible lazy lines and color various. The large rug has an amazing zig-zag overlapping diamond eye-dazzler pattern with stepped end border and on each end the original Germantown red, natural and black both appear to be four-ply / 4-ply fringes. The rug is truly one of if not the best Germantown we have ever offered or is currently up for auction. The rug is in near excellent condition with a few small dime sized wear spots which are photographed, professionally cleaned and preserved / restored. Measures overall 81 inches long by 57 inches wide.
