The lot features a buffalo hide beaded dispatch bag from the Northern Plains dating to circa 1890-1920's from an ex-Montana collection. The bag exhibits thick Indian tanned buffalo bison hide with trade thread sewing showing an old red stroud trade clothe outside border and classic Dispatch bag beadwork. The beadwork is all old glass trade seed beads showing greasy blue, greasy butterscotch yellow, cobalt and semi-transparent lilac. The bag is nearly identlical to the Northern Plains Dispatch 1890 bag sold by High Noon Manitou Galleries in August 2004 for over $1,000 showing the same tipi like triangular with tab center border and central banded design down the middle with outside red stroud border. Measures overall 9-inches by 7.75-inches without the 9-inch long belt tie.
