The lot features a fantastic circa 1890-1900's Navajo Germantown double saddle blanket from a Denver collection and ex-Hindman / Cowan's. The blanket consists of two single saddle blankets woven together and are made from handspun wool and Germantown yarn. The main section consists of a classic Germantown saddle blanket with fine tight weaving showing beautiful Germantown yarn and showing a detailed checkering and zig zag design with typical yarn bottom fringes. The other portion shows a thick handspun wool in a typical banded saddle blanket design. These were made to be folded at the center and used as a saddle blanket and this is a unique and beautiful example. The blanket shows various Navajo lazy lines and nice variation of color. Measures overall 66-inches by 40-inches.
